NEW OUTDOOR MENAGE COMPLETED AT THE RIDING CENTRE

Last Autumn we carried out our largest project of the year - the complete replacement of our outdoor riding menage.

It was a huge project for us because the old one was in complete disrepair and had to be removed from site necessitating skips, many skips and unfortunately during the project we found that we had to carry out additional works because of a problem with water drainage. We had to install a new soak away which meant buying 100 tonnes of stone and an additional geotex membrane.

The new waxed surface is now down and enclosed with smart post and rail fencing. The completed menage has already proved a hit with our riders and the more proficient are able to now ride without assistance safe in the knowledge that the pony cannot bolt off.

We had to raise quite a sum to do this work and we must thank the following organisations for their help. The National Lottery, Harpur Trust, The Varrier Jones Foundation which is part of the Papworth Trust, The Panacea Foundation and the Wixamtree Trust - without their financial assistance we would not have been able to go ahead.
