The Butcher Boys (from left to right Lyle, Nick and Shaun)

On Sunday, friends and family of BDHRA volunteers, villagers of Pertenhall and loyal friends of "The Wheelers" , were treated to sizzling sausages and other delights at the home of one of our volunteers, Elaine Wheeler.

Elaine, ably assisted by husband Alan, and son Lyle, who works for a very trendy butchers in London, `The Flock and Herd` put on a delicious spread for over a hundred people in their delightful garden. It was a real family affair. Lyle and his mates made the burgers and sausages specially for us and cooked them to perfection alongside chicken . Yum, yum, very tasty. They are definitely our `pinum boys` of the moment.

Lucy, Elaine and Alan`s daughter who works at the Cafe Royal, was responsible for the pimms aided By Aaron. Lyle`s girlfriend, Gemma sold masses of raffle tickets and it seemed as if no one went home empty handed.

Definitely an afternoon to saviour; sunshine, friends, wine, beautiful views, funky chickens and laughter. Thank you Elaine. Elaine raised £1627 which she will gift aid to us giving us a whopping £2023 . Brilliant.
